Ali Farrell, Director FoodForum
The Food Safety Interactive program is a flexible resource to support the teaching of food safety and hygiene. It is well-structured and motivational enabling students to work independently to achieve specific learning outcomes.
Christine Arthington-Schoolzone Evaluator
The program is particularly suitable for GCSE food technology but the straightforward format of the interactive modules allows students to readily access it from year 7 upwards. This is a particularly useful feature as students can work independently at KS3 as an extension activity or whilst others are involved in practical work.
It is also valuable as a whole class teaching tool when played through a projector and/or an interactive whiteboard. It allows students to share control of interactive sections of modules, maintains interest in individual topics and encourages group decision-making when delivered as part of an existing food hygiene course.
Nick Schofield - Head of Technology- Tower House School
Pupils found the interactive element very stimulating and motivating…which I believe contributed to the high success rate.
Sharon Blunden - Cator Park School
Creative Learning Solutions have offered a simple and realistic solution to teaching Food Safety to school age children studying at GCSE level. The course materials are easy to understand and most importantly, easy to use. I have a queue of children wanting to use my computers to complete units many lunchtimes. The course also allows children to develop at a pace that suits them. It is really gratifying when a child comes to tell me that they have completed their course. The certificates are a real pinnacle of achievement.
Sue Hemmings - The Arthur Terry School
We use the program with our Year 9 students, they love being in charge of their own learning. We have had very positive feedback from parents and it has helped students with both their work experience and part-time employment.
Zena Belton – Food Technology/Lifeskills Coordinator – Valance School
Valence school is a residential school for students with Physical disabilities and complex medical needs. We have found the Food Safety Interactive invaluable with out staff and students. All staff as part of the training and development programme completes the BFH if they are supporting students with any food technology lessons or life skills sessions involving food preparation. The students use the programme as part of the Food Studies and Health and Social care course and as preparation for independent living.
The clear graphics, spoken text and simple format make this programme accessible to all.
Mrs June Bradbury - Fred Longworth High School
“This is a wonderful programme. The students can progress at their own pace. It can be slotted into lessons very easily and the graphics and exercises are both educational and enjoyable.”
